Vegan, Spicy Fried Chick’n Sandwich Recipe
Chick’n Mix ingredients:
- 1 package of Jada Brands unseasoned Chick'n Mix
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 tbsp. nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. Chicken Salt (original)
- + Oil for frying
Dry dredge ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cayenne
- ¼ tsp. chipotle powder
- ½ tsp. smoked paprika
- 1 tsp. Chicken Salt (Red Pepper)
Wet dredge ingredients:
- 3 tbsp. hot sauce
- ¼ cup plant based milk
- 1 tbsp. dijon mustard
- ⅔ cup plant based egg
Toppings (all optional):
- Pickles
- Bread
- Vegan mayo or ranch
- Hot sauce
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients for Chick'n mix together.
- Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix all ingredients for dry dredge together. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix all ingredients for wet dredge together. Set aside.
- Once Chick'n Mix has sat for 10 minutes, shape into patties (best to not make them perfect).
- First dip patties into wet dredge, then dry dredge. Repeat twice per patty.
- Submerge into hot cooking oil for 3-5 minutes. (We used grapeseed oil)
- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings! Enjoy!
