Spicy Fried Chick'n Sandwich

Vegan, Spicy Fried Chick’n Sandwich Recipe

Chick’n Mix ingredients:

  • 1 package of Jada Brands unseasoned Chick'n Mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp. nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Chicken Salt (original)
  • + Oil for frying

Dry dredge ingredients:

  • 1  ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cayenne
  • ¼ tsp. chipotle powder
  • ½ tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. Chicken Salt (Red Pepper)

Wet dredge ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. hot sauce
  • ¼ cup plant based milk
  • 1 tbsp. dijon mustard
  • ⅔ cup plant based egg

Toppings (all optional):

  • Pickles
  • Bread
  • Vegan mayo or ranch
  • Hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients for Chick'n mix together.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients for dry dredge together. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix all ingredients for wet dredge together. Set aside.
  5. Once Chick'n Mix has sat for 10 minutes, shape into patties (best to not make them perfect). 
  6. First dip patties into wet dredge, then dry dredge. Repeat twice per patty.
  7. Submerge into hot cooking oil for 3-5 minutes. (We used grapeseed oil)
  8. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings! Enjoy!
